Australia Postgraduate Award PhD, APAI PhD Scholarship in Conservation Science
An Australian Postgraduate Award PhD is available. The successful applicant will work within an interdisciplinary ARC Linkage Project Biodiversity planning in the urban fringe: multiple actors, multiple conservation actions, multiple uncertainties. The project aims to develop new conservation planning tools/strategies that deal with real world settings where there are many different actors, management actions and uncertainties. In addition to conservation biology and ecology, this research could potentially draw on work in fields such as multi-agent modelling, graph theory and game theory. Research undertaken by the successful applicant will be addressing the gap between conservation theory and real world practice. The project provides unique opportunities as it brings together many of the key stake holders in the urban fringe as industry partners. These include public land management agencies and both state and local government.
